Police: Surveillance video shows man taking 'upskirt' photos

GUN BARREL CITY (KLTV) -

An East Texas man was arrested after a woman reported him to police for attempting to take pictures up her dress while she shopped at Walmart.

According to a report from the Gun Barrel City Police Department, 37-year-old Christopher Lee Pomroy of Gun Barrel City has been jailed on charges of possession of child pornography and improper photography or visual recording.

In the Walmart surveillance video, you see a woman in a long dress making her way up the grocery aisle. Right behind her is a man reaching for his cell phone. According to Gun Barrel City police, that man is Christopher Pomroy.

The video shows the man following her to the end of the aisle while messing with his phone. Then, you see the man crouch down by her feet. That's when police say he started recording.

"After it happened, she saw a flash coming from down below her, and he apparently was right up next to her kneeled down there on the floor acting like he was trying to get something off of the shelf," says Gun Barrel City Police Department Investigator Monte Mansfield.

The victim, who did not want to go on camera or be identified, says this wasn't her first encounter with the man at the Gun Barrel City Walmart. She says earlier this month when she was shopping like she normally does, she saw him doing the same thing. That's why the second time she was prepared.

"Shortly after this happened, she backed away from where she was at and turned around with her phone and took a picture of him and turned that picture over to us," says Mansfield.

Police say they used that photo to identify and arrest Pomroy. Gun Barrel City Police add, that a search of his cell phone revealed photographs related to child pornography.

The victim in this case says she wants people to learn from what happened to her and to pay attention to their surroundings. She says, "When out shopping, women get caught up in what they're doing and some people prey on distractions. He had the opportunity to get closer to me than he normally would in another environment."

The incident at Walmart was not Pomroy's first offense. According to Denton County judicial records, he was scheduled to plea in another improper photography case Wednesday, but he didn't make it to that hearing because he was in jail in East Texas.

South Australia's first Apple Store draws line hours ahead of opening [update: photos and video]By Mikey Campbell

While Apple's latest retail outlet in Australia isn't scheduled to open for another three hours, customers eager to get into the region's first Apple Store are already queuing up, some having been there for nearly 12 hours.

Pictures from the scene, sent to AppleInsider by reader Jonathan, show about 30 people waiting for the grand opening of Apple's Rundle Place location, the first brick-and-mortar shop the company has set up in South Australia. The first people in line started showing up at 8:30 p.m. last night. Currently, local time in Adelaide is about 7 a.m., well ahead of the scheduled 10 a.m. door opening.


According to Apple's website, the Rundle Place Apple Store will boast a Genius Bar, in-store workshops, One to One service and business-class offerings, as well as free youth programs like Youth Workshops, Field Trips and Apple Camp.


The Adelaide Apple Store will be the first to serve South Australia, saving product owners from traveling to far away cities for repairs and browsing.

A report Monday noted that Apple's brick-and-mortar outlets netted a record $58 per visitor last quarter, which amounted to an average per-store revenue of $13.1 million.

Google brings Business Photos to India

Summary: The program allows customers to walk through, explore, and take a closer look at a business premise, giving Indian businesses the ability to provide virtual tours inside the offices through interactive 360-degree imagery.

Google has officially launched its Business Photos initiative in India, allowing consumers to see inside a company's premise without actually stepping inside the location. The program allows local businesses to provide Google users a virtual tour inside the business through interactive 360-degree imagery. This imagery can be viewed on Google Search, Google Maps, and Google+ Local Pages.

The program is currently available in more than eight countries globally including United States, Australia, New Zealand, France, Ireland, Netherlands, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Google Business Photos allows customers to walk through, explore, and take a closer look at a business premise. Also, businesses can embed these photos on their Web sites and social media channels using an embedded code from Google Maps.

Commenting on the value for business owners, Shailesh Nalawadi, Google's product manager of Geo, said: "For the businesses, this provides an opportunity to visually present their product and services. For example, before visiting a store to purchase an electronic device, consumers can use business photos to evaluate and view the selections offered by various retailers."

Hard Rock Cafe in an upscale pub in Pune, India's seventh largest metropolis, has its imagery on Google Maps as part of the pilot program. A customer can check out the décor, seating, and ambience before planning an evening out at the pub.

To get Google Business Photos, business owners can hire one of Google's certified Trusted Agency Photographers including Indiacom, Jindal RH Interactive, Carbon Tree, and Vox360, to capture the interiors of their premises and displays on the storefront, like business hours, rating details, credit cards accepted, and posted menus. Trusted Agency photographers are independent contractors who have been trained and certified by Google to produce high quality panoramic images. 

As a business owner, though, one can also upload own photographs to Google+ Local.
